Yeah I dont know what happened with the last e-mail cause it did end mid sentence hahaha sorry. Well thanks for the Sports updates and GO COUGARS!!! holy cow that is awesome hahaha you will have to let me know what we are ranked!!! also sounds like Man U havent slowed down any, hahaha two of my district people are Chelsea fans so i always make sure he knows that great news. The Jazz sound like they are playing horrible hahahaha Tell all the little girls on the team hi :) talk to ya later.

Hey Bud!

Thank you for the pictures! They were fun to see. Can you not hook the camera cord into the computer to down load them or insert the memory stick somewhere? Pictures are fine, just wondered if you knew you had your cord. Have you used your ATM card yet? If you haven't, you need to try it so we know if it works before you leave the country. We are tending Maggie for the next 10 days. Grandma & Papa headed for Arizona yesterday. Grandma has all of next week off so they thought they would go visit. Maggie has wondered where you are. There is no one downstairs when she looks. I am sending a care package today. It has a treat for all 3 of you. Do your companions get many packages & letters? Do you need me to send anything specific? Jessica has a bye today & Kenna has a bye tomorrow so it is a quiet sports weekend. Dad is having his soccer team come over to watch the Man U game tonight! My evaluation went well. I am glad I am done till next year! Sorry this is so short, I just wanted to say "HI". Hopefully you got my longer letter! I am off to work! Love you & very proud of you!

Letters to Family

Julie, Randy and Ryan,

Thanks for all the addresses :) Yeah the Spanish is kinda sorta starting to come but I am not worried anymore. Well it's a good thing Randy didn't try to help me haha. I just sit in class with a blank stare (I kinda feel bad for my teachers). (We told him about helping Uncle JD with his High School Spanish). I am very excited for soccer down there. I hope my mission President lets me play...I also hope I get to play so it makes me better and so I don't lose my touch and have to get it back when I get home. Thanks for all the addresses. Jenni has written me twice and I didn't see the address till today so I couldn't writhe her back, but now I have it. Yeah, no gum was hard for me cause I was very addicted, but you can have mints so it kinda helps. You can listen to those (referring to the Mormon Tab Choir music) out in the field, but you are apparently not allowed to in the MTC. They say it would get "too loud" in the dorms if everyone was playing music.?? Doesn't make sense cause only one other set of elders in our district has a music player, but I guess obedience is key haha. Thanks for the letters :)

Letters that bring tears to my eyes!

This is a letter Kristopher wrote to his "favorite" cousin Jenni! He always teases her to the point she sometimes wondered if he really didn't like her! I loved to be around when they were together! There was never a dull moment!


Dear Jenni and Greg,

Now that I have your address I can actually right you back : ) Your letter was the first one I got while I was here. So thanks. Greg was right the chocolage milk is very good! I have it every breakfast.

The early to bed thing isn't really as hard as I thought it would be because they wear you out like crazy during the day with how much you have to learn and study and everything else. The early to rise part was a bit tougher at first but I am starting to get used to it.

We got to go to the temple today since it is our first "official" P-day. My companions and I did an endowment session. It was just as good if not better than the first time, except that you guys weren't there : ) hahaha. We have on average 3 hours a day trying to learn Spanish and then another 4 studying the scriptures or Preach My Gospel. Then the rest of the time is spent eathing, at gym, or TRC which is where we teach a lesson to "volunteer investigators". So that is our usual day and it is very tiring.

One last thing, I don't think you really truly realized how much of an example you were to me because of how many times we joked around with each other. But I wanted you to know that you really were a big example to me. You were always doing the right thing, you love your family like crazy (especially me : ) ), you stayed true to the gospel and did all the things God has asked of you. Including getting married in the temple.

Greg you are awesome! Even the little time that I have known you I have noticed your silent spirit that is always about you, you very rarely have a comment against anyone and they are alwasy never meant to be hurtful but just jokingly while all of us are doing it to.

You both are amazing and I just wanted you to know that : ). Believe it or not but I do miss seeing you and I didn't see you that often anyway. Well I miss you and can't wait to see in in 102 weeks (I think).

Letter To Dad

My P-day is Friday (obviously) hahahaha I am incredibly busy!!! It is crazy, i thought maybe you would get a break once in a while (on Sunday) but no that is one of the busier days of the week hahahaha.Yeah we have a Devotional on every Tuesday night and a Fireside every Sunday night, our first speaker for Tuesday night was Elder Holland, so not bad for my first devotional :) Yes you still go to the gym and it's everyday. I also got one of the ankle braces from the medical thing because it started hurting again when I would cut and stuff, but I put the brace on and it doesnt hurt anymore. We went to the Temple for the first time today and my companions and I did an endowment session :) I didn't have my e-mail log in and stuff and that is why you kept getting letters but now I know the log in stuff I will start to e-mail. Well I gotta go cause my time is almost up but LOVE YA and miss being with ya!

Mom,

"I already had grandma's address because she has already sent me two packages hahahaha. I also just got my password and stuff from Grandma's letter so now I will be able to log in and e-mail you instead of write :) so I will wait for the last letter from you guys send and then I will just starting e-mailing. You can only write or e-mail on Fridays anyway so it wont be that different. I have seen Elder Erickson, Elder Allen, Elder Stoven, Elder Proctor, and a lot of other friends that you probably wouldn't know... I am going to send you one more letter about the weekly schedule and I think that might be the last "letter" not e-mail that you will get from me... Yeah hahaha I have heard about the Eagles game from three people now (you, Kim, and dad). I think i answered all of your questions in my previous two letters so if you have any more let me know through e-mail :) Well i still gotta write a lot of letters and my laundry just finished so I will shoot ya another e-mail next Friday :)"

FINALLY...The 1st letter!

First of all I really miss you guys a lot, but so far it is really cool & fun here. My two companions (one didn't show up) are Elder Anderson & Elder Dettenmaier. My missionary mailing address is:

My "estimated" departure date is March 7, 2011 and it says I will come back January 8, 2013. I got a letter from Jenni on Thursday and a package from ____________.

A couple of things different about the MTC than we thought. No music, NO gum. no tie-tacks, can't write letters other than on p-day, and a lot more Spanish (at least more than I thought).

I feel dumb because everyone in my class took Spanish in High School and is already putting stuff together in sentences and knows lots of words. But on Thursday I learned the alphabet and kinda how to pray...Our teacher is really good, his name is Brother Avilla.

I am going to figure out how to send packages & stuff so I can send my stuff back. Dad I also forgot to give you something so that will be included in the package. You should also send me a family picture or one of each. :) Umm Dad the things that you need to let me know about are the Eagles, Manchester United, whoever wins the Super Bowl, and the Premier League stuff.

Mom will you send me friends & families birthdays, a little 2011 calendar, some food/candy like chocolate chip granola bars, Pringles. Reese's Pieces and stuff like that. Also, we were given a water purifier here so you do not need to send one. Oh, I also need addresses for friends and family (Tally, Riley, Coach, Bepp, JD, Brenda, Brent, Julie, Jenni, Ali).

It is definitely hard not to walk by my companions and stick my finger in their ears to annoy them but it's o.k. Jessica, let me know about basketball, soccer, & school. Kenna let me know about soccer, violin, recitals, and school.

I typed this word for word from his letter. It makes me laugh when he says there is more Spanish than he thought. I think he figured they would ease into it a little bit but I have a friend that used to teach there and they have some groups they do total immersion of Spanish from the very first day! He sounds happy! I am happy to just hear from him. I still have so many questions, but that is a mom's job! He would LOVE to hear from all of you, so WRITE!
P.S. The package was from Grama Joan. Not sure why he left a blank!

This was a day of the lowest lows and the highest highs! It was very hard to say good-bye, but there was such a spirit of peace at the MTC that it made it a little less hard to say good-bye!

Being Set Apart as a Missionary!

Bishop Rupp & President Fenton came to the house on Tuesday night at 9:30 p.m. to set Kristopher apart as a full time missionary. The blessing that Pres. Fenton gave Kristopher was amazing! It confirmed to me that our Heavenly Father knows each one of us individually. He said things to Kristopher that he needed to hear. Things that as a mom I wanted him to know but coming from the Lord through Pres. Fenton, will be paid more attention to.

Grama Joan & Papa Doc were able to come for this special occasion!
