Christmas Letter

Roger had the brilliant (not) idea of having all the Missionary Moms speak in Sacrament Meeting on Christmas Sunday.  We each asked our missionaries to send an email with some of their thoughts on missionary work, the gospel, and their testimonies.  I am not sure what Roger was thinking when he thought this would be a good idea, since I will be too emotional to get through it, but it did make for a nice letter this week.

Maybe this is a little more than you wanted but here it is.

Thoughts: I like the words of Elder M. Russell Ballard in his book Our Search for Happiness, "In the mission, weaknesses become strengths, challenges become opportunities, trials become triumphs, and adversity becomes an adventure in the service of the Lord". The mission is awesome, I especially like "challenges become opportunities" it is not just us that have the challenges but our investigators too. We both have challenges, maybe not in the same perspective, and they become opportunitys to better our lives, strengthen our faith and testimony, come closer to our Heavenly Father, and helping our family relationships. Of course, some challenges are a little bigger and tougher to have but they ALL, no matter what it is, will do those things I just mentioned. I love having these challenges too because not only does it help me but it brings another child of God to the truth. The mission is awesome and fun and yes a little challenging. I also like the quote "The mission is the hardes thing in your life... if you aren't obedient" and "if you are almost obedient... you almost get the blessings". So look at the challenges (in life too) as opportunities and be obedient and just relax... we have the promise of the help of God. The best kind there is.

Experiences: Well I have had a lo of good, funny, happy, awesome, sad, confused, annoying, and frustrating experiences. But that´s just part of the mission. I have had a lot of experiences where I have gotten to see people change their lives, a lot where people just yell at us, a lot where they invite us in to just fight with us, a lot where the people are so close to their baptism but they just cant accept one thing or give up something, and a lot of them have to do with the wonderful book we believe to be the words of God, The Book of Mormon. Here is an experience I had with that true book. Cecilia, an investigator, was also taking studies from the Jehovah´s Witnesses (we didnt know this at the time) and she would tell them about us and the Book of Mormon. Then one night she saw us pass by and chased us down (literally). She told us that she had been reading the book and also talking with the Jehovah´s Witnesses, she told us that they just bashed on the book and told her not to read it. But then she said, "But I just feel so good when I read it". Then she said she knew it was true and also the church was and we baptized her a week later. It was awesome, I love that Book.

Testimony: Well to start the Testimony, I know the church is true, now more than ever. I know Joseph Smith was/is a prophet of God and that he saw our Brother and Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I know that this is the correct organization for the church with a living prophet in Thomas S. Monson, in the 12 apostles, and seventies. I know that we literally have the power of God in the priesthood and if we live worthily to have it and use it we can work miracles. I know that Jesus Christ lives and he is my older brother and that my Heavenly Father loves me. I know that what I am doing here in El Triunfo (tree-oon-foe) ;) is a great and worthy cause. I am helping better these peoples lives and trying to strengthen the 10 active members that we have. But now looking at it, they have also strengthened me, and that is an awesome thing about this gospel. I know the Book of Mormon is true and if we all try to apply the teachings and councils of that book we will have a better life, more faith, and a stronger testimony of the gospel. I cant believe it has already been one year, before you all know it I will be here on the stand giving my homecoming talk. I love you all and miss you. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Mom now this is where you bear your testimony ;P hehehehehe

Love,

Bud

Last Week's Letter 12-12-11

So I am sending one e-mail to you both (the same one) because we got to the computers late... The Christmas party that we are having in the mission got changed to the 22nd, so that is when we will end up getting our stuff now. I am sure I will still enjoy every single one of the presents. The music I asked for was more of Mo-Tab  (especially  If you could hie to Kolob, Be Still my soul, bigger ones like that), The Forgotten Carol music, Josh Groban, Good classical music stuff like that. Well we can do it pretty much any time of the day. We also have the opportunity to do SKYPE... I think that means we will get to see each other... :) So I still need to figure all of that out and I will let you know. I am kinda really a lot more excited hahaha :) I really don't care what you put in the Christmas letter for me, tell them I am happy :) hahahaha Your are right 5 pounds per baptism would leave you not too much to work with hahaha maybe one pound per baptism would work....? Thanks for sending the soup info. I am going to make it with a sister down here, she does have the stuff to be able to do it.
WAHOO!!! KENNA that is awesome. Good job on making the ODP team, I never did. That is awesome, you need to keep letting me know how it is all going with it. :) Just keep playing hard and listen to what John or whoever your coach says and you will really learn a lot.
1. No none of the members have computers. We go to a place like normal that is just filled with computers to let everyone use.
2.  We have a set day with a set member and we always eat with them on that day throughout the week. So Tuesday is Hna. Paz and she is every Tuesday.
3. The same things... hahaha this is definitley the poorer area so some of the food really isnt that great... hahaha
4. I will try to figure out everything and let you know as soon as I know. (Christmas phone call)
5. Yeah it is kinda a pain but not to big, we travel on like Greyhound buses but here they are called TRT or ADO. It isnt too bad though.  (Transfers)
6. We see other missionaries every Tuesday when we have our district meeting. That is usually the only time though. We are an hour away from the closest missionaries.
7. We have had to let a lot of people go because they werent progressing. We are still teaching that one couple and we are planning on marrying them and then baptizing them all this week. I am excited. We dont have many more than them, we need to now find more because we let most of them go.
8. PERSONAL INFO.
9. I will be at the mission home for one full day probably, I am planning on going to the temple to buy some videos and other things, I am fine without shoes right now and I would rather have the stuff from the temple anyway. But the things that they said we are planning on doing sounds pretty good. :) I dont remember them right now but I will let you know when we do it.l
10. They are splitting it up in halves the west side and the east side. I am on the East side and so is Elder Gutierrez, I am excited to see him, he only has like 3 months left, that is so crazy!!!
11. Best part of the week is that the wife of the guy we are trying to divorce got back and it will be a lot faster than we had thought. Worst part is that none of the investigators that we had were progressing so we had to let them go and maybe the seed was planted and farther down in the road they will be able to talk with more missionaries.
12. So the cool experience was one that our investigator had, he said that he started reading the Book of Mormon at like 10:30 and before he knew it it was 1:30 in the morning. He said he just didnt want to put it down, his wife had a similar experience :) That was cool :)
Oh, Tally... hahaha He has had problems with his knee before for the same thing I think. So I am just glad it wasnt the ACL or MCL or the other bigger ones. That still stinks though. Well thats about it for me, I am doing good, happy, and safe. Hope you guys are doing good too :) Love you.
Love Elder Evans

P.S. keep playing good in everything sis and Kenna. Oh, and school too ;) hehehehehe

Opps! I forgot to post last week's letter.

11 months DOWN...

Hey mom, dont worry we have to know how much time we have on the mission because we are always asked that. hahaha I also cannot believe that I have been gone for 11 months! It is crazy, and before you know it I will be saying what time you need to be at the airport to pick me up!!! Holy cow everyone is having or had surgery!!! Grandma Joan, Papa Paul, and now Bepp. What is happening up there!!! What was the surgery for Papa Paul for? uh-huh.... your camera is getting weird just in time for Christmas, if that isnt convinient I dont know what is... ;) hahahahaha I am actually really excited to come home and see Kenna play Soccer and the Violin and Jessica play basketball. WHAT?!?!?! Tally is having a MRI!!! Do you know what he did? It was probably in gym when he was playing basketball. That is really a bummer :/ Yes there is another Elder Evans in the mission. But there is another Elder W____ in our district right now so maybe it could be him I also know both Elder W___ that are in the mission. But I have never been a trainer or had an Elder W____ as a companion.

How is the leadership stuff coming?  What do you have to do?1.  We both do tithing, assign talks, set up activities, and stuff like that.

How has the weather been?  It looks like it has been rainy.  Do you need a raincoat sent to you?
2. The weather has been good, it has rained a bit but nothing too big. It would be nice to have another umbrella because the one I brought a member broke in my last area.

How long do you think you will be in this area?  When are the next transfers?
3. I think I might be leaving this next transfer, so I would be leaving the 27th of December.

Did you go to the places you were talking about in your email a couple of weeks ago?  Something called Agua Azul?
4. No we havent been able to go to the places yet but we are still trying to figure out how we could get there and stuff like that, we also might go to another place with some of the members. :) Dont know for sure yet though.

Did you go to the places you were talking about in your email a couple of weeks ago?  Something called Agua Azul?
5. I did get all three packages. :) They took so long because they went to the other Elder Evans, and they just forgot to send them back and I dont remember the whole story, but I have them now so it is o.k.

How are your feet and stomach doing?  Do I dare ask???
6. They are both doing fine, I put the inserts in my shoes and they dont bother me anymore, although I am going to have to buy a new pair of shoes though. I looked underneath and pretty much the entire heel part was missing... hahahahaha no wonder my foot hurt.

Who are you teaching right now?7. We had to let a lot of people go this week because they werent doing what they were supposed to do (what we asked them to do) and werent coming to church. We still kept two or three of the same people so now we will need to find new people to teach. We are going to marry a couple and baptize them hopefully this week.

How is the apartment coming?  Do you have anything to cook on or in?8. We just bougth bed frames today :) We still dont have desks, chairs, or anything to cook on/in. Honestly I have never had anything to cook with. I just want to be able to study and do everything in the house so that we dont have to keep travelling to the church every morning to do everything.

What was the best and worst part of the week?9. The best part of the week was that our investigators (the ones we need to marry) came to church and continue to like it. They are awesome :) and the worst part of the week was that we didnt get to see the Christmas Devotional by the First Presidency. That was kinda a bummer, we were planning on it all day and then at 7:00 we ended up not being able to do it. :/

Anything else you can think of...10. Friday we went to the other area in the District so that Elder Hartvigsen could interview a lady that got baptized last Saturday. Thats about it, this was a kinda slower week compared to the rest.

Is it nice to have an American companion for a change?11. Yeah it is nice to have an American but I kinda want a Mexican again...It helps with the language, but I love my companion!

I honestly dont know if the package ever got sent so I will check when we meet up with the other missionaries and ask if he really sent it. This is what I found out for the Christmas thing. I can call for one hour, Would you rather have the call on Christmas or Christmas Eve? So if you get this and read it please send me back an answer.
Well thats about it for me, I love you guys keep doing good. Have a good week. Love you, miss you during this Christmas Season. Oh, and did you send me the music that I asked you to send?

Thanksgiving...NOT!

My Thanksgiving was about just as good as yours just minus being sick. That stinks that you have been sick, strep, sinus issues, and mono sounds like you got a tough three in a row to try to fight. I got a picture from Julie with Nat, Syd, and Bubba in it :) Wow, she (Kenna) is doing "The Gettsburg Address", that is crazy, is that the four score and seven years ago one? Or is it a different one... hahaha I have no idea. Doesn't sound like Jessica ended up going to the soccer tournament then, thats a bummer that she got hurt just before, or maybe it was a good thing she got a little hurt right now than really hurt down there. You are right, I dont really miss getting all the Christmas stuff out, when I am home, but I am really missing doing it right now... :/ Just tell Kenna that when Christmas comes it just means that I will only be gone for another year... hahah and then when the next Christmas comes I will be like 2ish weeks from coming home :). So thanks for letting me know that you are back from letting the dog out, hahahaha I was wondering where you went. ;) hehehehe I am still a bit of a smart-alec ;) Tell the lady that is bringing down the stuff to just drop it off at the mission home, It will be easier to get because we do have our party thing on the 15. So just tell her to leave it there and we will be able to have it two days afterwards. Oh, and I got my packages!!! wahoo!!! Thanks for all the stuff :) There was a ton hahahaha I love the ties, the treats, the notes, and everything else :) But there is definitely one thing I would like some more of that I didnt really think that I wanted, That would be pictures :) Those made me really happy, If you would, send some soccer one, some with Tally Riley and Kim, some with the family, and some just fun ones that you like :) I honestly don't remember what was in the package that I sent home... that was like 8 weeks ago hahaha I need to talk to the Elder to find out if he actually sent it...

1.  How is the work going?  Do you have any full member families yet?1. We do not have any full member families yet but it is coming along. We are teaching two more families that we need to marry and then we can baptize them :) So once we do that we will be able to baptize them :) They came to church yesterday and they liked it a lot :)

2.  How is church leadership going?  Are they trying to find someone reliable to take charge?
2. We are still seeing about the leadership things... hahahaha We still need a President and pretty much everything but the Relief Society... hahaha But we have gotten really a lot farther in these last couple weeks trying to figure out who could be good to put in as leaders. Almost every member is going to have a calling. hahahaha That is still weird to me!

3.  Tell me anything that I don't know.  Going to work today really wore me out and I can hardly think straight to come up with questions this week, so tell me anything and everything.3. Ummmmm We are finally getting some stuff for our house (Tables, seats, and bed frames) so we dont have to keep going back to the church everymorning to study and to shower. The President actually came and delivered the packages to me personally on Friday, mainly because he was coming to do our interviews. So we had our interviews and it all went good. I didnt do anything special on Thanksgiving and it was actually on our worst meal day that we had it... hahaha I found a scripture that I really like in D&C 61: 36-39, I just think it is a really cool scripture that we all need to remember. Nothing big but just that we are his children he loves us and we will be o.k.

4.  Best and worst part of the week.4. Best part of the week was getting my packages and having the people in the church that we can baptize :) the worst part of the week is that it has been raining hard and I feel like I might be getting a sore throat. But it is still pending so we will see if my body can fight it off with the help of the Lord (which is very probable) hahahaha ;)

So thats about it for me, I am doing good, still having a good time, hope you guys are too :) Love you, have a great week.

Love Elder Evans

The members made him a birthday cake and stuffed his face into it to celebrate!

Happy Birthday Dad & Papa Doc!

Hey mom, sorry I didnt write you last week, I was trying to figure out my camera thing and I lost track of time and it didnt help at all that my e-mail wasnt working very well :/ That is funny that you got to talk to Elder Plummer. I really like him, oh and You should give me some ideas of things that I could send back for Christmas :) and did you ever get a package that I sent around 8 weeks ago. I forgot about it and never asked about it.

If you are  still there, Elder Plummer said that your Zone Leaders should have your packages and that he would call them and find out for sure.  Where are you meeting the President at?  At the mission home?  I don't think your packages are there.  Let me know.
Well we are supposed to be having divisions with one of our Zone Leaders tomorrow so I guess we will see. Hopefully they bring them. No we are having interviews at our Zone Leaders area in Zapata where the packages should be. hahaha This is crazy. hahahahahaha And kinda dumb but whatever, As long as I get them at least... hahaha Love you mom thanks for checking on them for me. Give dad a hug for me on his birthday :) a.k.a today right now when you get this hahahaha

1.  I am glad you found a place to live, but it sounds like it was better at the church.  How small is this house and what is it made of?  Does it have a fridge or freezer?  How do you cook things?  Do you ever have real milk?
The house is two of Dad´s offices put together but just a little bit smaller. We do have a fridge and it has a smaller freezer in the top of it. We dont cook food.... hahahaha and no we never have real milk, some of it is o.k. once you put the cereal in it but you cant just drink it plain.

2.  It sounds like you are in a very small area.  Is it mostly jungle type stuff or what?  What kind of animals do you see?
Very little of the area is Jungle. It is just a little town with really nothing in it. We see dogs, cats, cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens, snakes, spiders, flies, mosquitos, birds, and sheep. Oh, and this crazy looking half spider half scorpion thing that we found in the church last night.

3.  How did the baptisms go last week?
Well you saw the pics of the baptisms and they went really well, This last Saturday we didnt baptize anyone but this week we have two possibly three baptisms. :)
4.  Who are you teaching now?
We are teaching quite a lot of people, we just recently had three people recieve answers to their prayers and we are going to put a baptismal date with them for the second Saturday in December.
5.  It doesn't seem like you have much leadership in this branch.  Is there a Primary or youth program or Relief Society at all?  How much do you do each week?
There is very little leadership in the Branch. We dont have a president of the branch, YM, YW, Elders, and Primary is inactive but getting better. So we end up giving the classes, blessing the sacrament, and usually do the sacrament meeting... hahaha
6.  Is this area poorer than the last area you were in? How far away from a decent city are you?
This is the poorest area I have been in but not by much. We are a good hour away from an o.k. city but a good 3 hours away from a good/normal city.
7.  What do people do for a living?
They are teachers, they have their own stores, the cut grass with a machete, and they do other stuff hahaha.

8.  Did you hear about the 2 missionaries that were killed in Allen Texas in a hit and run accident?  They were on their bikes.  It was very sad!  Made me glad that you are in a remote area with probably very few cars.
That is insane! and really sad. Where were the missionaries from that got killed.
9.  How are you doing with your weight?  I can't imaging you are still gaining without having a store nearby to buy things.  Are you always hungary or are you used to eating small meals now?  How often are the members feeding you?
The members still feed us everyday except for Saturdays. My weight has stopped gaining I think, I think I am around 145-150 now... hahaha a good 15 pounds. I am good, I just miss not being just to snack on whatever we have in the house.
10.  O.K. now for a more spiritual question:  What has made your testimony grow the most?
When people get answers to their prayers. It is so cool to hear them describe their experiences and try to describe how they felt when they were touched by the spirit. It is awesome to just sit back and watch the spirit work.
11.  Best & worst part of your week?
Best part of the two weeks was the baptism of the three little kids. The worst part was breaking the Word of Wisdom..... hahahaha We bought some sparkling cider (with a member that said it was o.k.) and it ended up having 5% alcohol in it. hahaha IT TASTED ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, how people can just drink that blows my mind. When we found out it had alcohol in it (after one swallow because it was sooo bad) we hurried and dumped it out in the sink. hahaha
I am still doing really good, we have an interview with the President this Friday so I should get my packages then. We also have our Christmas "party" on the 15th of December. Me and Elder Hartvigsen are still doing good, we are working hard and having fun. Hope you guys have a good Thanksgiving, eat something for me because I am perty sure I dont get anything. So thats about it for me, I love you guys and have a good week :)

Love Buddy!

P.S.
Make sure and tell dad & papa Doc Happy Birthday for me!

Another Picture from Palenque.  I can't wait to get all these pictures for my 5th Grade unit on the Mayan's.
These three little boys showed up an hour early because they were so excited.  It is hard to believe that they are older than 8.  LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!
Fun things that Elder Evans bought at Palenque.  I hope he can get them home in one piece.

No letter this week! :(

Hello Everyone,

We did hear from Kristopher this week so we know that he is fine, he sent a quick Birthday email to McKenna & his favorite cousin Jenni, and a Congrats to Jessica for making the JV/Varsity team at Alta.  However, the draft he was writing to me is only 3 lines and is still in his draft box.  I am wondering if he was having some computer issues.  It did say that they baptized 3 young boys last week that came an hour early because they were so excited and didn't want to miss it.  I guess that will have to do for this week.  I am sad that I didn't get more information but I am glad he was able to send anything at all.  It is hard not to be selfish as a Missionary Mom.  His letters are what make my day and get me through the week.

10 Months Down!

I am having a pretty crazy week too! hahahaha and for the same reasons. HOUSE!!! We finally got one, but to be honest it is absolutely horrible! Go Jessica, you can do it! hahahaha I still havent gotten my packages by the way, I am learning to not put my trust in my leaders to get me things very fast. My zone leaders forgot them today at the zone activity but said if we baptize our 3 this week he will personally deliver it to me... I will believe that when I see it. It frustrates me a ton though.

1.  How are your living arrangements?  Do you have a kitchen & fridge and all that stuff?
So the living arrangements... They are not the best, we dont have a kitchen, we have a faucet that barely puts out any water. We have to mattresses (dont know how to spell that) but not any frames or anything. We have a fridge but can't really use it because we don't have anything else to use to eat. We can't shower in the mornings in our house because our faucet doesn't put out enough water, so every morning we leave the house around 7 so that we can go to the church and shower and eat and study. It is kinda really annoying and there are no other houses here either. I think we should just move back into the church but we shouldn't. hahaha It is very frustrating.

2.  Your companion said in his email home that the Mission Pres. bought you some mattresses.  Are you sleeping better?
I am sleeping a lot better. But still have the problems like I said in #1.

3.  Do you know Elder P_______ that went to Alta?  K___H___ knows him.  Also, do you know an Elder P___?  Kate knows him.  I know Elder P______ and I dont know Elder P___. Elder P is awesome, we have been in the same zone in Mina for 6 months and then we are back in the same zone. He is cool and a really good missionary. We played basketball today with the zone and there are some kids that played 3A and 4A basketball and he comes out and makes a team and says that we are going to prove the Alta cuts are better than the 3A and 4A starters hahahaha it was soo funny!

4.  Is there someone in your area that has a computer or a good telephone for your Christmas phone call?  We are counting down the days!!!!!  That is all Kenna wants for Christmas this year is to talk to you.  I would love it if you could Skype!
The christmas call is going to be interesting. There is only one Sisters house that we could do it from and they leave a lot. So I dont know how we are going to be able to do it. Yes, that would be cool if we could Skype!

5.  Have you eaten anything else interesting?  A lot of missionaries are eating Iguana in Mexico.  Have you?
I havent eaten Iguana yet but we are planning on eating more fish, an Iguana, and maybe turtle.... I am really not excited at all for that last one :/ hahaha But it will be a cool story and picture so I am going to do it... hahaha

6.  How is the work going?  Your companion said that the church leadership in your branch doesn't always show up so he has to take charge and do everything.  How does that all work?
The church here is crazy! The president that was over our branch just got called to be the President over the branch where he lives. So now we dont really have a President because the 1st councilor that we have doesnt really come and doesnt do what he is supposed to. So for the last couple of weeks, yes we have had to get there after going and getting the investigators and hurry and set everything up getting everything ready and teach the lessons. It is crazy! The work is good though, we are planning on baptizing 4 people this Saturday so I will let you know how that goes hahaha But right now it is looking very good :)

7.  How many people are in your Branch?  Do you know it's official name?  You don't meet in an LDS building do you?
The branch is called El Triunfo. We are renting a building it has a plack outside that says The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on it. So we dont have a chapel but that is the goal before both of us leave this area.

8.  As always, what was then best and worst part of your week?
The best part is that all the kids passed their baptismal interviews and the worst part is definitely the house and branch situations. Oh, and not getting my packages..... again.

9.  Have you written that hand written letter you owe me yet?  You are much more detailed when you hand write.  Kim will say things and I won't know what she is talking about.
I have not written it yet, Oh and will you tell Kenna and Kim and Dad Happy birthday for me on their birthday. I havent been able to send their cards because I havent been able to find a mail place to do it :( Tell them sorry but they will get their just really late :/  Tell Kim that I am also behind 5 letters because I havent been able to send any... There isnt one where I live and there isnt time to go and send them where there is one because we have to get back to the bus before it leaves or else we have to wait another hour and a half.

10.  Is there anything you need me to send you?
I think I am good, and even if I desperetaly need it, I wont get it for another 4 months... hahahahaha

Well this week has kinda been slow nothing too big going on just the normal teaching and stuff. We are planning on going to the place called Agua Azul and las Cascadas next transfer and it sounds really cool. So I am going to send Tally´s letter to you and it is all ready. Love you guys, good luck with all the house repairing and everything else. GO JESSICA Wahoo starting varsity this year ;)

Love, Bud

YEA! Finally, some pictures!

So I am only writing one letter this week so I can send some pictures :) So Happy Halloween, it is weird to not see anybody with decorations or getting ready to go Trick-or-treating... They dont do anything. Their day is Day of the Dead. They apparently go and have parties in the graveyard and from what I have heard some kinda really strange iffy stuff... hahaha I love this day because it is one of the only days that is a for sure homemade chicken noodle soup day :) So dont get too used to not making it with nobody home mom... hahaha That was awesome to see the picture of BJ he looks the same hahaha Holy cow sounds like you guys will be pretty busy doing all that stuff... I am glad you are doing it while I am gone too... The only thing is is that I cant kick the soccer ball against the vinyl fence :/ hehehe Love you dad ;)

1.  How are you feeling?
I am feeling good :) Thats all I am going to say so that I dont jynx myself.....

2.  Did you get a house yet?  What is it like?

No we havent gotten a house yet, They said that they couldnt do it under a contract and thats the only way that we can do it as missionaries because it is part of the law. So we are going back tonight to figure out what we can do.

3.  Did you get your birthday packages?  I hope you liked them.

I didnt get my packages because there was a mixup that the assistents and the President had, I didnt really understand why they didnt bring them but I should get them soon if my zone leaders are good.

4.  How is the work going?

The work is going good, we didnt have any baptisms this last Saturday but we had around 6 investigators in the church. For the month of November we set a pretty high goal of 12 baptisms, it would be awesome if we did it and I really do think that we can :) So I will let you know how that goes. Other than that we are doing good and everything is how it should be. We are maybe starting and English class tomorrow, I am not too excited about that because I dont know how patient I will be with it... hahaha

5.  How do they celebrate the "Day of the Dead"?

I have heard lots of things. One is that they go and have a party or something in the cemeteries or graveyards. Another is that they do something with the bones of the people that have died. There are a lot of weird things I have heard too but it really isnt as big as I thought it would be, It hasnt happened yet but they havent done anything to set up for it though so I dont know.

6.  How was District Conference?  What did you do?  Where was it?

It was good, We just listened to our Zone leaders give a talk about contacts and a couple of other things. We got a cell phone and Elder Hartvigsen got a package... haha I was kinda frustrated about that because I didnt get one but they will come. I did also get a letter from Tally and J.D. I am still working on the letter to Tally by the way so it should be done next week.

7.  How are you getting along with your companion? His mom emailed me his last letter.  Sounds like you saw some pretty cool things at the Ruins.
We are doing good,  he turns on the light in the early morning, but he is starting to give me a warning now so I can pull the covers over my head, but still. . . . But everything else is good.

8.  How does Raccoon taste?  I can't believe you ate that!
Racoon doesnt really taste that bad, it was kinda hard to get the meat off the bone so I ended it up eating it off the bone because it was the only way I could get the meat off... :) hahaha It was awesome :)
9.  Do you need anything sent?
I dont need anything sent, I will let you know if I do after the packages that I should get this week.
10.  When are the people coming to visit that know your companion?
They are coming in December. Not exactly when but in December.

My Spanish is doing good :) I definitely learn more with a native companion but I definitely like the gringo companions better... hahaha So I will send some pics now, have fun love you guys :) Have a good night and a good week.

Bud & his companion were able to go to the city of Palenque last week.  It is a Mayan city that dates back to 100 B.C.  I looked it up on Google. Sounds pretty cool. He said he took about 150 pictures but we only get to see 2.  They take a long time to download and send!

Espero que estos fotos sirven, porque tomaron mucho tiempo para enviarlos. Send them to Elder Hartvigsens parents.  (It basically says that he hopes the pictures worked because they took too long to send.)

Sorry It's Late...It's been a crazy week. Here is this weeks letter!

I know I cant believe I am 20 either!!! That is hilarious, I loved when dad did that. Is it another weird pill that he is taking... Because that was the thing that happened last time. Oh... How is he doing? hahahahaha That is so funny!!!! I have been trying to send pictures I promise. I have some awesome ones that I want to send, I am going to put all my photos on a USB and send it back with the friends of Elder Hartvigsen that are going to be dropping a suitcase to him, I am also sending some other things home too :) They are awesome, I will send you pictures of them when I can.
When you see Kim give her a hug for me. Tell her that I am trying to find a place where I can send my letters too... I havent been able to find one for three weeks... hahaha :/ Tell BJ hi for me too :)

1.Every time I say something about my stomach it ends up jnyxing it. So I am not going to say anything about it... hahaha just know that it is not the same as before... hahaha

2. I will get all my packages tomorrow when we have a conference. :) I am excited!

3.I did get to see the ruins today, and they were freaking awesome!!! I took around 150 pictures and they are awesome, it was soo cool!!! To imagine some of the things that happened in the Book of Mormon, even though they probably werent there.

4.I did switch out my memory card.

5. We found a house but the President needs to come and check it out, we will probably be able to move into it this next week because he is coming to the conference.

6.The work is going great, our baptism that we had planned for this Saturday wont happen because they didnt come to church but We did have two others last saturday.

7. I havent talked to anyone from my last area, Is Julio still talking to Jessica, if so tell him I say hi :)

8.I havent because she got in an accident but she is going back this week and I will get them then :)

9.They work good, it is only my nicer shoes that bother my feet because the sole has kinda collapsed but they are still good.

10.There are always stray dogs in the street and everyonce in a while a chicken and turkey. THe dogs dont usually bother us but when they do all you have to do is pretend to pick a rock up and they run away with their tail inbetween their legs.

11. We walk everywhere.

12.I really have no idea, because the things they told me I couldnt eat I wasnt eatingmuch of before... hahaha So I have no clue.

13. I think it is called the Day of Death not Halloween. I am kinda excited to see what happens.

14. There were a lot of bests. We baptized two people!!! We ate some racoon!!! We went to the Ruins!!! and the worst is that...... our baptism for this week fell through.

So my memory stick doesnt work in this computer so I am going to have to do it next week... :/ I am sorry, I hope you dont think that I am just not tryihng... because I am .
Well I gotta hurry so thats about it for right now. Stay safe have fun and I love you

The stress for mom never ends...

Here is this weeks letter.  I always ask him several questions and he answers them by number.

1.  How is the new area?

The area is awesome :) It really isn't that big and all the people want to listen, it is hard finding the people that we can baptize for sure. The members are awesome too :) They all want to work with us and we are starting to really work with them.
2.  Have you found somewhere to live?  It would freak me out to live in the church, but hopefully you are keeping your room clean!  :)  Where were/are you sleeping & showering?  Do they have showers for the baptismal font & I am assuming that you used the kitchen for food.

We have not found another place to live in yet, we think we have found a house but the zone leaders need to come and make sure it is o.k. I am sleeping on a two cushion couch and it is really getting hard to sleep good.  There is are two showers that are in the church, and apparently the other room once had beds and everything that they needed. But I hope we get the house this week.

3.  How are the members?  Are they feeding you and doing your laundry again?

The members are feeding us and they are really good, But the only thing is, is that they are all part member families. Not one member has a complete family as members. They are also doing half of our laundry, we still have to wash our garments.

4.  Why was the area closed down and then reopened only 6 months later?

I have no idea why they shut the area down.
5.  Are you still getting along with your new companion?  If you have both been out the same amount of time, who is the Senior Comp?  Did you know him from the MTC or the flight to Mexico?

I am still getting along good with my companion. He is the Senior Comp. We are working really hard together and we work really well together. I only knew him when we got to the offices in the mission.

6.  How often do you see your Mission President?  Do you have interviews in person or over the phone?

We usually don't see him very often, and I am pretty sure all his interviews are in person.

7.  How is the grocery store situation? Are you able to buy enough food?

There really isnt a grocery store... hahaha It is called Super Sanchez and it isnt very big and doesnt have a lot of choices. So really all we have are the basics like cereal, bread, and milk. We get enough food but it is just the same stuff over and over again.
8.  Are you still feeling O.K.?

Everytime I say I am feeling ok something happens. Last week I said I was good and then Tuesday it happened again. I went and had my first Ultra sound to check everything out. I have a thing called Colitis, I have no idea what it is so don't ask. They said I have a lot of gasses in my stomach, like a ton, and it just keeps building up, so now I can't drink pop, eat chile, or any irritants. I am on a medication that should take care of it.

9.  I am getting the Christmas package in the mail by the end of this week, is there anything you need or want?

I think I have told you everything that I want for my packages. Maybe a USB-
10.  How is this area compared with the other 2 in regards to living conditions and wealth of members?

Living conditions and wealth are about the same as the last area but a lot worse than in Mina (first area). When it rains all the streets just turn into rivers and you just have to deal with it. It also rains a ton!!! hahaha
11.  Is there anyone to play soccer with?  What do you do on P-days?

There isnt anywhere to play soccer with and there really isnt a where to play it either. We are planning on going to the Ruins in Palenque this next Monday and also the waterfalls :) dont worry I will take a lot of pictures :)

One of our members went to the temple this week and is bringing back a Bible. The Book of Mormon is still o.k.
This week was good, It ended on Sunday with a baptism of Marisol. :) I ended up baptizing her :) It was really good, she is a member of one of the part member families that we have here. Tuesday I didnt end up doing anything because my stomach was hurting me all day. Wednesday we spent most of the day out of our area in the hospital getting everything I needed. We are busy teaching and have another 2 baptisms scheduled for this Saturday :) Saturday we did a lot of yardwork to our church building because it was way dirty and all the plants were overrunning the sidewalks and the building, so we cleaned that all up and it went good :) Then Sunday we had the baptism. It is going really good here :) I like it, the members are working, my companion is working, the people are doing what we tell them, and we are having a good time.
So thats about it for me. Love you guys, stay safe, and have fun :)

Love Buddy.

P.S. I think my companions parents are going to contact you to go to dinner, so just a heads up. They had a neighbor do that and they thought it would be a good idea.

Transfered -- Area #3

What a difference a good companion & a good area make!  The tone of his letter is much more positive than the last couple!

Dear Mom & everyone,

I did get Tally´s e-mail and it made me really happy :) I will send him a seperate one that you can print. HAHAHAHAHA Spyke peed in Jessica´s bed!!! hahahahaha That is hilarious. I also got a letter from Bepp this week too :) sounds like they are doing good. :) How is Jenny doing... The last thing I heard about her wasnt too good. Holy cow that is a lot of packages!!! hahahaha How much is all this costing... (the truth)

1. and 2. The bus trip was good, it was about 6ish hours long, and I went all the way with my new companion because he was in the same zone as me in Coatzacoalcos. I didnt see anything cool on the way though because the windows were all closed so that we could sleep. :) hahaha

3. My new companion is Elder ___________ and he is from North Ogden. He went to Weber High School. He plays tennis, cross country skiing, and basketball. He is a little bit taller than me and he has blue eyes.

4. and 5. The area is great! :) So much better than my other one... hahaha So I really dont know the real name of the area... just try Triunfo, Zapata and it should work I think. It isnt really big and we are opening the area. We are the first elders that have been here for 6 months. There is a ton of work here to do :) We are literally right above Guatamala, a town called San Martin, you should see if Kyle has it in his mission or something like that so we can go and wave at each other. . . hahahahaha.  It is also in the middle of nowhere though, doesnt have any big stores or anything like that. But the members here are awesome, usually there is an attendance of like 12 people, this last Sunday we had 20 :) The members have so many people that they want us to teach we barely have time to do anything. We are doing good, we have about 7-10 baptisms that could happen in this month. :)

6. Yes when the kid erased all the pictures I mean ALL of them :´(.. . . .  . . A very sad day :¨( ......... BUT I got them all back this last Saturday :) I think there are about 5 hundred he said that he found. I was sooooo happy afterwards. The only thing is is that he found them all and they are on the memory card but you cant see them with the camera, so you need to plug the memory card into the computer and get them from there. I will try to figure out how to do it...

7. I am feeling good :) it hasnt returned at all, I really have no idea what was causing it but I am hoping that it was only in that area (cursed area) hahahahaha.

This week has been crazy full of work that we have been doing! We have a lesson almost every hour from 11-8 except 2 for food and another one to try to contact more people. I really like this transfer so far, We both got in the MTC on January 5 and between the both of us we know enough Spanish to get us along. I am starting to really get it now. :) Oh, I remembered one more thing that you should send me ;) The Ensign for October, I saw it at another Elders house and it looks really cool :) We are looking for a house right now so we are living in the house of prayer (church) There have been some good times so far. :) This Sunday we were teaching about the Restoration and out of nowhere this old lady asks if she has the gift of tongues because when she prays she randomly starts talking in another language... We sat there for like 20 minutes trying to tell her it wasnt the gift of tongues and then she just started talking in some made up language and we told her to stop and that it wasnt of God and not to pretend to do it anymore. The lady is kinda crazy but she is doing everything we tell her to do including going to the church and everytime we have passed her store she was reading the Book of Mormon... So we just need to fix some things and it will be good :) hahaha  So I think that is about it... I am doing good.
Have a good week, be safe, have fun, and know I love you guys. :)

Love Buddy :P

Another Week Down...

Glad you are doing a bit better now :) hahahaha Dad did great!!! That is awesome!!! TYCE IS GOING TO BE TWELVE!!! Sounds like you guys had fun down in St. George:) Thats good :) I am a bit jealous that dad got to run the marathon and I didnt hahahaha When you go down to see Kim and BJ, tell them both hi for me :) That Stinks that you couldnt get my pictures... I dont know why they didnt work...

1. General Conference was awesome :) I watched it all but the Priesthood session in Spanish, I didnt watch the priesthood session in Spanish because I didnt get to see it at all. But of what I got from it was really good :) I am looking forward for the Ensign :) I swear I saw my choir teacer from Indian Hills singing in the choir... See if Jessica recognizes him too... ahahaaha it was kinda weird

2.The investigators are o.k., I am not going to really talk about them though.

3. The family is still going to go to the temple, we are just waiting for their inteviews and to set a date :) They are going to request that we go to the Temple with them when they end up going.

4. I am feeling fine, I really dont know what it is. It hurts really bad but goes away, it is like if I eat something bad or something, I have no idea ahahahaha.

5. I am getting a new companion.... and a new area. We both are being transferred. I am going to Juarez Triunfo, Zapata. The complete opposite side of the mission, it is a good 5 or 6 hour bus ride... hahaha :/ I am getting a companion from my same generation of missionaries (the other missionaries that came here with me).

6. We did baptize Edgar this last Saturday :) Elder _______ baptized and I confimed him. I was so nervous hahahaha The rest of his family is doing good :) They need to go to the church one more time and then the new Elders that are coming in can baptize them :)

7. I am pretty sure that I am good with the packages. Thanks :) If I think of anything else I will let you know :)

8. No Julie didnt send me anything but that is pretty crazy... hahahaha

9. I think there are about 4 or 5 or 6 sister missionaries in this mission.

10. The best part of this week was the baptism of Edgar and Conference and hearing that I am being transferred... hahahaha They are all really good things :) The worst part of my week is that I gave my camera to Edgar to look at my pictures and somehow he managed to delete all the pictures that I had on my camera... :´( Apparently there is a guy here that can recover them and we are going to see him tonight :) So hopefully it works ......

Well thats about it, hopefully this area will be a bit better than this one :) I am kinda nervous though hahahaha. Hope you guys all have a good week :) Especially dad with his legs ;) haahahahaha

 LOVE YOU GUYS :)

Love Buddy :)

p.s. sorry no pics today, We still have a lot to do.

Missionary Moments

So I had the best dream last Saturday night.  All the missionaries throughout the world cams to SLC for a day.  If you were from there, you were able to see your mom for a few minutes.  The hug I got in the dream was so REAL!  I woke up looking for him because I really felt a physical hug from him.  It was amazing!  He tried to send pictures this week but for some reason they didn't come through.  He told his dad he is having stomach issues again so please keep him in your prayers.  Other than that, he is doing GREAT!  I love the wisdom and advice he gives me.  Needless to say, I will be going to the temple this week!

Dear Mom,

Hahaha your dream was pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I am glad you felt the hug from me :) hahaha. The first thing that I got the feeling to say to you when I started reading your letter is when is the last time that you went to the Temple? Dont know why but that is what I felt that I needed to ask... hahaha Jessica didnt pass the driving test!!!!! hahahahaha I am pretty sure I didn't pass it the first time but then after ten minutes of thinking and studying I went back in and passed it :) hahahaha Good luck sis you can do it :) Sounds like you guys are going to be having an action packed weekend with everything that is going to be happening. Tell everyone hi for me when you see them :) Kim too :) Put in new bark? (We are getting bark in the park by our house. We took out the sand as a neighborhood Day of Service project) I dont know if I like that, I hate bark parks... it is so much painful when you fall... I just got my package :) thanks :) I got the books, and I am thinking that the life and teachings of Jesus and his apostles is the new testament? or do you still need to send some of the books. Also I got some of the things that I asked for in this package like the weight rope and stuff like that :) Thanks.

1. The Spanish is good, there is a different accent thing here and they dont say some of the letters at the end of the words but that is about it, I am getting most of it but I am definitely still learning it hahaha.

2. We are still trying to figure everything out with the family, we have finished all the classes and we are now just waiting for them to have their interviews and set a date, the setting the date part will be the hardest, especially because they dont have a lot of money to do the things they need, if the dad doesnt work that day they dont eat that day so we are trying to fix this problem too. We are also starting to teach 2 more families and 1 more person the classes so I am way excited for this :) We could have three sealings by the end of this year :)

3. We have had to drop a lot of the people that we are teaching because they arent keeping the commitments and dont really want to do anything, so now we are starting to find different people to teach. We do have one family that we are teaching, I am pretty sure that his is going to be baptized this Saturday too :)

4. It has been really rainy but it isnt too bad, most of the time it is raining is in the night or in the morning, and when it does rain in the afternoon it rains hard for about 30 minutes and then stops. So it is not too bad.

5. Well the things that I said we actually just started yesterday, so We are going to start it this week, so I will let you know how that goes. They seemed really excited to start it and get moving but we will see what happens. :)

6. She is pretty much the same, I honestly think when we have transfers it might change because my companion is going to probably leave and they dont really get along... hahahaha

7. I honestly have no idea, we usually dont know until like 3 or 4 days ahead. hhahahaha we just listen to talks from the assisents and the president. (Zone Conference)

8. The best part of the week was when we set our baptism for this Saturday, he prayed, he read everything we asked and he is ready for it. I am really excited for this baptism, for a 13 year old he has a lot of questions and stuff like that. My other favorite part was when we were contacted by the Jehovah´s Witnesses hahahaha They saw who we were and they were like oh its ok... bye hahahaha it was hilarious!!!

9. Okay so that wasnt a question that was more of a command... hahahaha (write me an actual letter and mail it the old fashioned way)

10. No none of the sisters in our ward listened to it... I honestly dont know if they know about it... But I will show them the talks when they come out in the Liahona here. We will be watching the conference in our building, it has an antenna that picks up the BYU channel. So that is where we will be watching it, but I wont have subtitles or anything this time :/ So I will be especially looking forward to the Ensign :)

HAHAHA Why does everyone think that their letters are boring.... I love them hahaha It honestly doesnt matter what you could pùt in them, I would still like them. :) Well this week I got to go to Villahermosa to become officially legal here in Mexico... hahaha We had to go to the immigration office and do some stuff and we got a card and that is about it. That is also when I got my package :) Thank you very much it was very awesomely good hahahaha I think one of my favorite parts was the random sticky note that say A.J. Snell says hi... hahahahaha Tell him hi back for me. hahaha So I honestly dont need any white shirts, I forgot that I have about 4 saved for my second year and the ones from the first year arent really even that bad... So I dont need white shirts. :) I would like a new pair of pants though (Black) :) I think 32x32 would be good, if not I can have a sister help me fix them up so that they fit. I also forgot to ask for ties :) of all the things I cant believe I forgot to ask for those... hahaha Seeing how really that is all we can change about us here ;) Thanks for everything :) I am looking forward for my birthday packages :)!!!!!! Thanks for this one I just got and for everything that was in it :) It was awesome. :) If you want when you get this send a text to Kim and tell her to have a good night with a ;) you can ask her why :) hahahaha So I am going to send a picture today :) hahahaha Love you guys be safe have fun and remember who you are ;)

Love Buddy :)

36 & 1/2 Weeks down!

Hi mom :) and sisters... hahahahahahahaha

Yes the time is definitely flying by for me too! I have almost been out 9 months!!!
To start I am going to write a bit about my week. Last Monday we went to the beach to play soccer, we ended up kicking the ball around for two minutes and someone already kicked it in the water... hahahaha but a boat passed by and threw it back to us. All-in-all it was kinda boring... hahaha we really didnt do much, it would have better with different people. hahaha Also all of us forgot our cameras... oops :/ Then on Wednesday we did splits and I went out with Elder Allred  and we worked together for the day. We also got one of our investigators to say yes to a baptism this last Saturday. But before you get too excited, the baptism ended up falling through and we didnt have a baptism on Saturday :( The lady had to leave to a different city to see her family that were having problems. So hopefully the upcoming Saturday we can baptize her :). Will you also tel Jenny (Kim`s sister) That we didnt have the Zone Activity so I dont think she will be getting a postcard from me :/ tell her sorry... :(

1. I have a freezer but not a microwave. But if I need one there are members that have one that would let us use it. The food is basically the same, I am not eating as much junk food though... hahaha

2.We do our laundry at the members house, they dont do it for us.

3.Garment Size= Top- ST : Bottom- S. If you could, would you send me two more of the underarmor type... two of them ripped.
White Shirt Size = Classic Fit 16

4. We are teaching people... hahaha Rosaura, Marìa Jose, Erika, Lilia, Eddy, Darwin, Domitila, Edgar, and new ones that we are going to see if they progress. They are all good but some I dont think will stay active in the church after they are baptized.

5. Really it is mainly investigators (65%), In-actives (15%), and Tracting (20%).

6.I dont know if we will be able to go to the temple this next week something came up with the husband (Bro. Geronimo) and his wrok. They are waiting to see what happens with it first. But hopefully it will be in the beginnings of October :)

7. I am still feeling better, and yes the sample was quite an experience...

8. Yes I am still drinking enough water... hahahaha Yes mom ;)

9. We can still play soccer but it isnt the same because there arent a lot of kids to play and really it isnt really fun with them... :/

10.I dont know what the best moment was.... but the worst was going to Sis. Rosaura`s house the Friday before her bapism and she had gone to Cardenas... :(

11. The rain is calmed down, and no I still have my umbrella so I am o.k. but thanks :)
The mission office is not the same one that I arrived at before. I have sent you the new address when they changed.... just in case here it is again.

Av. Circuito CD. Deportiva No. 206
Colonia Atasta
Villahermosa, Tabasco
C.P. 86100

So that is the new one that I sent you like three or four weeks ago, and it is still the same.
Here are some of the things that I would want for a package.
  • Weight/Resistance rope, the strongest kind
  • CD`s. Good classical Music (Piano, Violin, Bagpipes, or anything else), MoTab (anything that you can find from them), The Christmas Carol songs (Just burn a disk for me), Josh Grobin`s good songs, and other good church music you know.
  • Pens, a specific type... they are called Pilot G-2. Black and Blue ink please :)
  • Some pictures of the family, us havin fun, with my friends, soccer, or whatever else.
  • Goodn`plentys, Reeses, Skittles, Starbursts, Licorice (3flavors), Cinamon Bears, Twinkies, Kool-Aid (anything but Pink Lemonade), Peanut Butter, Ritz, and whatever else.
  • Two boxes of Band-aids
Thats about it. I am going to send pics of my house today too :)
Love you guys have fun and be safe! :
Love Buddy :)

Just got this email:

So mom... I have been sitting here for thirty minutes and the first picture isnt even half way, next week we are going to try the other web place to see if those computers are any faster.    :( sorry you wont get any pictures... :( But I really did try, my camera was plugged in and everything... hahahaha The computer is just extremely slow!!! Love You Bye I am signing off now :)

BUMMER!  I was so excited to see his new area!  :(

I LOVE Mondays!

I can't believe how long Mondays seem to be when you are waiting for an email!  Here it is.  I have pulled the names of the missionaries & people because of privacy issues that we have been warned about:

Dear Mom,

Tell Visser hi for me too when you see him next. When I first saw his name I thought it would say something about him getting married hahahahaha! I dont really need anything for my packages, anything you send would be great, just the books that I asked for :) I dont think I will have the same companion at Christmas because he ends his mission one week before, but still I think he will be changing in this next transfer... or the next one.

1. I did go to the doctor and there wasnt anything bad, I dont remember what he called it but all I had to do was take two pills and thats it. I also was talking to him before and he told me to buy a sample cup, and I thought oh o.k. I am going to have to pee in a bottle. NOPE, he wanted a poop sample hahahaha It was pretty gross to say the least.

2. I am still eating as good with the members but not eating as much on my own. Because there isnt a store next door to go and buy junk food from every night hahaha!  Tell them (the missionaries that we are feeding)  that you want them to sing a hymn for you or have them share a scripture or something. :) They should do it on their own but if they dont, ask for one.

3. We do our laundry at the house of a different member.

4. The computers are good, they are like a room with 6ish computers all by each other that you have to pay for...

5. The attendance was a little better this week but not by much, we also didnt have any investigators in the church either :( We did have a Branch Council though and we are going to really start making them work now, because before all the stuff was just handed over to the missionaries and we would do it all but not now, we are changing that.

6. The family that is going to go to the Temple has 4 people in it, dad, mom, and 2 girls under the age of 12 :)

7. I dont know if there is one obstacle that is the biggest because one is caused by the other and the other and it results in another obstacle and it just is hard. We are going to start something new with the members so hopefully some of the obstacles will be going away soon. :)

8. Tell Jenny (Kim´s Sister) that I will send her a postcard when I find one. There are none here to send her. I will probably have one next week though at the Zone Activity in Coatzacoalcos (good luck trying to say that). :) hahaha!  It has rained a lot which really slows down the work that we have. People don't want to be contacted and they dont want to let us in soaking wet in their houses. Yes I have my umbrella but it doesnt work to well when there is wind involved. We didn't have a baptism this last Saturday. We have some planned but I am doubting that some of them will work out because of dificult situations with families. The weeks are going by fast!!! It seems like we just started this transfer but we just started week 4!!! It is crazy!!!

9. We have a district meeting every Tuesday morning and thats the only time we leave our areas. We travel by taxi and it is a 25ish minute taxi ride depending on the taxi driver. We have a cell phone to use for almost everything except calling for fun, texting, taking pictures, or anything like that ;) hahaha, it is used if the other elders need to get ahold of us or to call our members or investigators for something. The other elders in my district are Elder ____ and Elder ______. Elder ______ is new. Elder _______ and _______ are in my zone (they were with me in the MTC).

So that's about it for me, sorry no pictures again... They will come I promise hahahaha! Give the puppy a hug and I guess the girls too ;) hahahahaha oh and dad if he wants one ;) hahahahaha I am just hilarious!!! hahaha Have a good week :)

Love,

 Elder Evans

P.S. I think I am going to be writing a Spanish letter pretty soon, I hope you are prepared... ;) hahahaha

I am glad to see he is still the happy laughing kid I sent out 8 months ago!
