WOW! What a difference an area can make!

Kristopher was transfered last week for the first time he has been in Mexico.  It seems like a rough area!  The mom part of me hopes he doesn't have to be in this area as long as his first area, but the other mom in me knows that he is the right missionary to whip the Branch into shape!  Here are his letters from this week.   (NOTE:  He is totally kidding about his cousin being a bad mom.  The two of them fight like siblings.)

MOM,

1.Well the transfers went good and I am in my new area called Sanchez Magallanez. It isn´t very big, It is seperated into two parts and two diferent Branches. One of the Branches has an attendence of 20 and the other has around 15ish. It does have a beach but it isnt very good or what I was expecting hahaha.

2. The new branch is crazy, there were apparently huge problems here with the members that caused somebody to go to jail and they changed all the presidencies because of lies of other members and crazy stuff like that, Read Alma 1 for a good explanation... I feel it describes pretty well what happened and what is happening. They are all way lazy too it is insane. I am not even this lazy dad... and that is saying something.! It is going to be quite a challenge in this area and helping it grow because we don't really have the support or the help of the members. I have never seen or heard of anything like this in the church where the members are so against each other. If you have any ideas to help or anything let me know hahahaha.

3. My new companion´s name is Elder Pèrez. I knew him in my last area for one transfer and then he came here. So I kinda new him, he is a good missionary but he doesnt have a lot of patience with the people that we teach. Like an investigator will bring up a topic and he immediately thinks that they want to start fighting. He only has 4 months left on his mission.

 4. My new apartment is about the size of my room in the old apartment I was in. hahaha It is not very big and only 2 missionaries are living there. We live a good 2.5 hours away from the main part of the city and it takes forever to get to places when we have zone meetings or anything like that.

5. The food is mainly the same tortillas, eggs, chicken, and flavored water. The members here give us a lot of Coka cola but we cant drink that so I am going to change that.

6. I am doing good :) we have like 3 families that we are teaching, so in the next transfer we could have around 10-14 baptisms! The only thing about it is that they arent really serious about everything though, and I feel after we baptize them that in like a month or two they will just fall away again. But I am doing good, a bit sad after leaving my old area but hopefully this one starts being better. So far I dont really like any of the youth here because they are whiny and none of the members want to do anything to help us... :/

7. Sanchez Magallanez is the name of the place if you google it.

8. I also dont think I will give you an address here, mainly because I am not in like a city or anything like that could be sure that I would get it, so just send it to the mission office and I will get it when I get it... hahaha :/

9. That is so crazy that Jenni is going to be a mom!!! and really weird. All I can say is I feel bad for the baby ;) hahaha! no they are going to be awesome parents, I cant wait to see it (boy or girl) when I get back :) hahahahaha yes Julie could be a grandma too ... hahahaha!  (I told him that it was weird that Jenni was old enough to have a baby but that my big sister was definatley OLD enough to be a grandma!)  Sorry Julie!

10. Tally is going to go to Villahermosa, Mexico or Southern Mississippi but probably is going to go to Villahermosa, Mexico! hahaha Or Germany because he took Spanish in High school and we are going to trade languages.

The weather has been fine, today it rained pretty hard but it has continued to be hot and sunny and hot ;) Thats awesome that you have almost finished the New Testament, I am in Acts 8, and we just finished the Book of Mormon, I dont know what we are going to start next. Wahoo! Go mom keep up the running and when I get back we will all do the marathon together :) I am excited for that :) ( I have started running!  I went 9 miles over the weekend! That is far for my short, chubby, little legs!)

Tell Kim hi for me, I haven't sent a couple letters because I haven't had any money but I have three to send tomorrow and one to Tally for his birthday :) so let them know to be expecting a good letter ;) and tell Tally I am expecting an e-mail about his call when he gets it.

Love you Mom, Jessica, and McKenna Have fun in work and school and take luck :)

Love Buddy :)

Here are a few pictures that a friend on Facebook sent me.  Kristopher has had a huge impact on this young man's life.  He has had a pretty interesting past but is now planning on serving a mission.
